The tapes of "Tarzan and His Mate" in release now contain skinny-dipping footage that was not shown in theaters at the time of the film's release, nor to any paying audiences until the 1980s. Although filmed during the production of the movie, the footage of Jane swimming about after a branch lifts off her animal-skin covering, was, at the behest of the Hays/Breen censors, cut such that the scene quickly jumps from its beginning to its end.
